Alumina Castable – For Fire-facing Walls in Tight Gas Combustion Chambers

Case Study: In tight gas drilling operations, structural materials for combustion chambers must withstand high-temperature shocks during blowout operations. Researchers prepared a refractory castable using white corundum as aggregate and aluminate cement as a binder.
Results: Tests demonstrated that as the sintering temperature increased, the mechanical properties of the castable continued to improve, enabling it to meet the stringent requirements for high-temperature resistance and thermal shock stability demanded of combustion chamber firewalls.
Applications: Monolithic castable components such as high-temperature kiln linings, combustion chambers and furnace roofs.
